The Zamfara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the All Progressives Congress ( APC) of using the Military and some bandits to intimidate, harass voters and rig the Saturday 16th Kaura Namoda South State Assembly bye-election results.

The State Chairman of the ruling party in Zamfara, Jamil Jibo, made the allegation while reacting to the outcome of the by-election, which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared inconclusive as a result of cancellation in two registration areas.

The party condemned what it termed a broad daylight robbery of its mandate by the APC.

He alleges that the heavily armed military personnel were deployed to polling booths not to provide security to voters but to intimidate, harass and unleash violence, while they also asualted PDP agents and chased them from the polling booths.

The PDP claimed that the election did not take place at Sakajiki ward as ballot papers were hijacked, and results were fabricated by the APC in connivance with the military personnel in the absence of the PDP agents.

The ruling party also alleged that certain bandits were used to threaten and intimidate voters in part of the constituency.

The PDP Chairman urged members of the party to remain calm and law-abiding as the leadership will use all legal means to reclaim its stolen mandate.
