Senate President, Godswill Akpabio returned to Nigeria early Monday morning from London after a brief vacation, dismissing widespread rumours about his health.
Reports circulating on social media had alleged that Akpabio was critically ill and hospitalised in the United Kingdom.
Addressing journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the Senate President described the claims as baseless and the product of mere speculation.
He assured Nigerians of a more robust legislative agenda when the National Assembly resumes and defended the strong Nigerian delegation at the Geneva conference.
The Senate President also pledged improved collaboration with other arms of government and to deliver greater dividends of democratic governance.

Akpabio had earlier attended the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva from July 29 to 31 before proceeding to London for what he described as a short rest after a demanding legislative year.
He landed at about 4:00 a.m. and was received at the Presidential Wing of the airport by senators, aides, and well-wishers from across the country.
