The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, NASIEC, has submitted its report on the November 2nd, 2024 local government elections to the state government, with recommendations for improvement in future polls.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, who received the report in Lafia, the state capital, assured citizens of the state that all recommendations would be thoroughly studied and implemented.
The 107-page document details the entire preparation process and conduct of the 2024 local government elections in Nasarawa State.
Chairman of the commission, Ayuba Wandai, highlighted several innovations introduced in the exercise which include online recruitment and payment of ad-hoc staff, live transmission of results, and the engagement of academics as returning officers.

According to Ayuba Wandai, the measures contributed to one of the most successful elections in the history of Nasarawa state but noted that there was still room for improvement.
Governor Abdullahi Sule commended NASIEC for the peaceful and credible conduct of the elections, stressing that more efforts will be made to ensure hitch-free elections in subsequent polls.
The governor pledged to thoroughly review the report and implement its recommendations for improved elections in Nasarawa state.
