The Federal Government has released funds to 18 medical schools nationwide, including the Bayelsa State Medical University in Yenagoa.
Leader of the ministerial team, Saad Ahmad, said in Yenagoa that the move is to tackle brain drain in the health sector by expanding facilities and training more manpower.
Governor Douye Diri, represented by his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, pledged that the state will continue to prioritize health and education.
The Bayelsa State Medical University is expected to benefit from major facility and equipment upgrades under the TETFUND intervention.
