Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots football development in the State.
He emphasized that investment initiatives such as the Prosperity Cup were yielding positive results, with several players discovered through the competition now thriving professionally within and outside Nigeria.
The Bayelsa Governor’s Cup, popularly known as the Prosperity Cup, was established to identify and nurture young football talents from across the State.
Governor Diri expressed confidence that the competition was fulfilling this vision by providing opportunities for budding footballers to showcase their skills and advance their careers.

Director General of the Prosperity Cup, Ono Akpe, also highlighted some of the new features of the competion.
According to him, a comprehensive scouting program will soon be launched across the State, further strengthening efforts to groom local football talents and project them to the national and global stage.
