NOW to a harrowing story out of Abuja, where a family of three has tragically lost their lives following a violent incident on Mabushi Bridge on Wednesday, September 3.

According to eyewitnesses, a grey SUV—carrying a man, his wife, and their two children—was pursued by suspected touts, often referred to locally as ‘Agberos’, allegedly operating under the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

The assailants reportedly forced their way into the moving vehicle, grabbing hold of the steering wheel. The struggle ended with the SUV colliding into one of the bridge’s concrete pillars, killing all three occupants instantly.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic aftermath. Mourners say the confrontation began near Berger Roundabout before spiraling into tragedy at Mabushi Bridge.

In the wake of the crash, an enraged mob reportedly attacked several of the individuals believed to be involved. Videos circulating online show these suspects being beaten and set ablaze—actions that have sparked both outrage and calls for accountability.

This tragedy has ignited public fury across Abuja. Many residents have called on the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to take decisive action to eliminate the operations of AMAC-affiliated touts in the capital.

ait.live attempted to reach the police and FCT authorities for an official statement, but as of now, no comment has been forthcoming.
