The Niger State government’s attempt to settle a legal dispute with Badeggi Radio out of court has failed.
The dispute began when Governor Umar Bago ordered the closure of the radio station, accusing it of inciting violence and unethical broadcasting practices.
The development led the Badeggi Radio’s management to approach the court, leading to an interim injunction.

The court’s interim injunction restrained the state government and its agencies from taking adverse action against the station.
The Niger State government had proposed an out-of-court settlement, but it was rejected, as Justice Mohammed Mohammed declared that the case file would be returned to the Chief Judge for reassignment due to the failed settlement.
