Gov. Soludo Mourns ARISE TV Anchor, Somtochukwu Killed In Abuja Residence

More reaction have continued to pour in a day after the brutal killing of the Arise News Television anchor, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu by suspected armed robbers in Abuja, with the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo expressing sadness over the tragic loss.

The Governor describing “Sommie” as she was fondly called by colleagues as a brilliant daughter of Anambra State and talented ARISE TV News journalist.

Governor Soludo in a post on his official Facebook handle, called the deceased, a shining star who lit up the world with her vibrant voice and professional excellence.

The Governor sees her untimely departure not only as a personal tragedy to her family, but also a great loss to Anambra State, the journalism profession, and the country.

While extending his condolences to Sommie’s loved ones, friends, and colleagues, Gov. Soludo prayed God to grant her soul rest in perfect peace, and may God grant her family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

The Governor also called on the Nigeria Police Force to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation, ensuring justice is served, stressing the need never to take the safety and lives of citizens for granted.
