There is no going back, we will begin strike at the expiration of our two weeks strike notice on October 6.
This is contained in a communique issued by the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU,at the end of its 52nd national executive council meeting.
The commumique which was read by SSANU President Mohammed Haruna, kicked against the segregation in disbursement of the N50 billion earned allowances to unions in the universities and the outright neglect of the re-negotiation of the 2009 FGN/SSANU Agreements
In a letter dated 12 September and addressed to the Minister of Education, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the two unions said the ultimatum followed the government’s failure to resolve long-standing grievances despite repeated reminders.
