The Chief Judge of Abia State, Justice Lilian Abai, says there is the urgent need for reforms in the judicial system in line with the digital era of justice delivery.
Justice Abai, who said this while declaring open the Abia State 2025-2026 legal year noted that the judiciary can rebuild confidence and restore the speed, fairness and integrity that justice demands.
Justice Lilian Abai said the new legal year provides the judicial workers the opportunity to rededicate themselves to the duty of justice delivery, while also reaffirming the judiciary as the lamp that lights the path of fairness and justice.

Abia State governor, Alex Otti who joined in the Thanksgiving service to mark the event, said the 2025-2026 Abia State legal year, with the theme, “Abia State Justice sector in the digital era” is in line with his administration’s ongoing transformation in the state judiciary.
The chaplain of Queen Elizabeth Hospital chapel, Very Rev. Ernest Onyeukwu in a sermon, challenged the judiciary to be disturbed by the myriad of problems facing Nigerians, including issues in the judicial system, and urged judges to uphold values that will make the nation great through their profession.
