The Delta state government has redeemed its pledge to athletes that won medals at the Edo 2020.
The Delta State Chief Executive says as host, the state is now saddled with the burden and challenges of ensuring that no medal leaves Asaba in the 2022 National Sports Festival.

The award ceremony which took place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba, office of Chairman Delta sports Commission, was supervised by the Secretary to the State Government Patrick Ukah on behalf of the governor, who handed cheques to the medalists.
Patrick Ukah while presenting the cheques, said the state government is happy that Deltans have never failed to make good use of every opportunity they found themselves.
He noted that the state has continued to record increase in its winning number of gold medals every year.
Ukah while fielding questions from journalists on the Delta 2022 National Sports festival, said the state will take home advantage of the Delta 2022 and leave behind a memorable hosting.
