Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has expressed dissatisfaction with the World Bank-funded programme, Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment, AGILE, in the state.
The Governor made this known when he received a delegation of the World Bank and National Project Team, led by the Task Team Leader and Senior Economist, Shinsaku Nomura who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi,
He says that all AGILE Operations in the State, must be transparent including contract award. The Governor specifically condemned the secretive award of N7.8 billion contract without the involvement of Kebbi-based companies, which has led to the removal of some officials connected with the process.

He insists on transparency and fairness in contract awards, stressing that qualified local contractors should not be sidelined in favour of outsiders.
Earlier, Nomura said AGILE has operated for three years in Kebbi State and would extend its operations for another three years. He added that they were in Kebbi State on engagement, as members of the team have visited schools and met with both teachers and students on enhancing knowledge.
