President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a resounding affirmation of his visionary leadership and transformative governance.

In a statement issued on Sunday from the State House, President Tinubu said Soludo’s triumph at Saturday’s governorship election making him the third governor in Anambra’s history to secure a second term reflects the confidence and trust the people of the state have in his leadership.

“I congratulate Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State,” the President said. “The overwhelming victory he recorded is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance.”

The President also commended the people of Anambra State, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a peaceful and credible election.

Recalling his visit to Anambra earlier in the year, President Tinubu praised Governor Soludo’s innovative approach to governance, highlighting his “discipline, grace, brilliance, and commitment to accountability and transparency.”

“Under him, Anambra is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” Tinubu said, adding that Soludo has proven that academic excellence and practical governance can go hand in hand.

While urging the governor to be magnanimous in victory and seek the cooperation of his opponents, President Tinubu assured of continued collaboration between the Federal Government and the Anambra State Government.

He also lauded the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for conducting what observers described as a credible poll, charging the commission to sustain and improve on the standards achieved.

“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) once again demonstrates the vitality of our democracy and the fact that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be denied,” the President added.
