Nigerian Army has announced the death of two of its soldiers who paid the supreme price in a fierce gun battle with terrorists during an ambush around Wajiroko, in Borno State, North-East Nigeria.

In a statement by the acting director, Army public relations, Lieutenant-Colonel Apollonia Anele, troops of the 25 Task Force Brigade on a routine patrol around Wajiroko in Azir Multe, Damboa Local Government Area, of Borno state came under heavy fire from terrorists while returning from a successful mission within the fringes of the Sambisa Forest.

The patrol team, led by the Commander of 25 Brigade, Brigadier General M. Uba, alongside operatives of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, fought fiercely and broke through the ambush with superior firepower, forcing the terrorists to flee in disarray and abandon their mission.
