President Bola Tinubu has approved the payment thirty-two thousand naira minimum pension arrears from september 2025 as well as the capturing of pension harmonisation in 2026 budget for retired para-military officers

This was revealed by the president of the National Association of retired para-military officers, NARPO, Ezekiel Kaura at its conference on national conversation and life after retirement.

The National Association of Retired Paramilitary Officers, NARPO focuses on member services like advocating for pension and welfare improvements, seeking exemptions from the Contributory Pension Scheme,CPS, and addressing grievances such as unpaid allowances.

The association has also been working to get para-military retirees covered by better healthcare and pension plans, similar to the military and other agencies, especially the active campaign
to receive pension increments and a N32,000 flat rate payment.

These retirees no longer need to wait for too long for most of these demands as president Bola Tinubu has given approval for them

Ezikiel Kaura, NARPO president and the representative of Nigeria Union of pensioners, NUP alongside other speakers used the opportunity to welcome the new leadership of the association and encourage them to eschew internal crisis and maintain decorum as senior citizens

The National Association of retired para-military officers is made of retirees from correctional service, Customs, civil defence, immigration and fire service.
