Breaking… Chaos At PDP National Secretariat As Rival Factions Clash

There was chaos at the PDP National Secretariat this morning as the Pro-Nyesom Wike/Senator Anyanwu led faction and newly elected National Working Committee members in company of Chairman PDP Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State stormed the party Secretariat in Abuja.

The party has been embroiled in a simmering leadership crisis between the camp loyal to former Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum and another led by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, backed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Both factions had planned to hold separate meetings this Tuesday at the same venue – Wadata plaza, but a scuffle broke out as they both tried to gain entrance into the premises.

The clash comes after a disputed National Elective Convention held in Ibadan over the weekend by the Umar Damagun led faction.

ait.live Correspondent, Amaka Okoro at the scene reports that a video journalist was manhandled, beaten and camera broken by persons suspected to be security personnel.

Former Rivers State governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike is said to be at scene and engaged In open confrontation with the governors loyal to the Damagun led faction, who were said to have gained entrance to the premises and were addressing Journalists before fracas broke out.

Guns and teargas sounds rent the air within the PDP National Secretariat office area in Abuja, with people reportedly scampering for safety.
