Federal High Court Abuja has sentenced detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment in absentia following his conviction on seven-count charge of terrorism.
The court subsequently ordered that convicted Nnamdi Kanu to be kept in protective custody in any facility across Nigeria suitable for him as sending him to Kuje Custodial Centre will not be appropriate.
Convicted Kanu will also not be allowed close to any Internet-enabled device while in prison except under direct supervision of the Office of National Security Adviser.
Justice James Omotosho in his judgement said Nnamdi Kanu has 90 days to appeal his life imprisonment sentence but if he fails to do so the Federal High Court Abuja will give consequential orders.
