Kogi Insecurity: State Govt. Confirms Abduction of worshippers in Ejiba

Scores of worshipers of the newly established Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejiba, a community in the Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State has been confirmed kidnapped by suspected bandits in their numbers attacked the worshippers and abducted yet to be unspecified number of people.

Sources revealed that the suspected bandits went away with the church leader, his wife, and several others into a nearby bush.

Confirming the incident, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication
Kingsley Fanwo in a statement on Sunday noted that the security network, comprising the conventional security agencies and the local security architecture are currently doing what they should do to rescue the kidnapped worshippers.

While he noted that the government is yet to be briefed by security agencies on the numbers of worshippers kidnapped, Fanwo maintained that the authorities of Yagba West Local Government Council are working hard with the security agencies to ensure those kidnapped are rescued alive.

Fanwo, while urging the citizens to be security conscious and also report suspicious movement and faces to security agencies, the Information Commissioner added that the perpetrators are aware that the state government will do everything possible to secure their freedom.
