Gunmen abduct Paramount Ruler in Plateau State

Gunmen who are suspected to be banditry terrorists have forcefully taken away the Paramount Ruler of Gindiri, in Plateau State, the Sum Pyam, Charles Mato Dakat, from his residence.

Gunmen who are suspected to be banditry terrorists have forcefully taken away the Paramount Ruler of Gindiri, in Plateau State, the Sum Pyam, Charles Mato Dakat, from his residence.

The gunmen were said to have invaded the palace of the Sum Pyam, in the early hours of Sunday around 1:30am, after a heavy gun fire that rocked Gindiri township, in Mangu Local Government are of Plateau State, North Central Nigerian.

An eye witness, Isa Kwarshak who confirmed the incident to ait.live via telephone said the gunmen stormed the town and operated for over an hour, shooting sporadically before successfully taking away the Paramount Ruler.

The Plateau State Police Command when contacted through its spokesperson, ASP Gabriel Ubah, said it is yet to be communicated on the incident.

The incident came few days after the Emir of Wase, Sambo Haruna, raised alarm that banditry terrorists have taken over 50 percent of his domain in Wase Local Government of the State.
