Security sources say the criminal gangs have recently become desperate for medical attention due to gunshot injuries sustained during clashes with security operatives.
A security official however warned that the development may push kidnappers to target health facilities in remote, forest-bordering areas.
“So, we are advising improved security measures in health facilities in thickly forested areas which the kidnappers may target,” the official said.
