The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reinstated the Mandate Secretary for Education, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, and the Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Michael Ango.
The reinstatement was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
Dr. Hayyo had been suspended on November 25, 2025, following the circulation of a memo directing the early closure of public secondary schools in the FCT over security concerns. The memo was issued without the approval of the Minister or relevant authorities.
Mr. Michael Ango was earlier removed as Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT-IRS, with no official reason given at the time, and the most senior director was asked to take charge in an acting capacity.
While approving their reinstatement, Minister Wike warned that indiscipline would not be tolerated among officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
Both officials have been directed to resume duties with immediate effect.
