A total of twenty-two women and youths have benefited from the skills acquisition training on bead making, craft work, hats, and turbans organised by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The beneficiaries who were drawn from the ukwa east local government area of abia state also received starter packs to kickstart their trade and create wealth for their respective families.
The 4-week intensive skills acquisition training on bead making, craft work, hats, and turbans was facilitated by the NDDC in collaboration with habgito Nigeria Limited.

The Abia state representative on the NDDC board, Dimgba Eruba, who was represented by the director, abia state NDDC office, Anderson Ukeh, said the commission will ensure that the training does not end at obiehie Community which is the training centre.
The NDDC said the empowerment of women and the girl child is another way of creating wealth for the people of the Niger Delta region.
The beneficiaries who displayed their products commended the NDDC for the training.
Each of the 22 participants was given a starter pack of 150,000 naira and materials to kickstart their trade.
