SGF George Akume launches 75 electric motorbikes for FRSC operations

‎
‎An unsafe road environment creates opportunities for criminality, while a secure highway network supports economic growth, national unity, and social stability.
‎
‎Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF George Akume, said this at the launch of 75 electric motorbikes at the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Headquarters in Abuja, to help enhance operational effectiveness.
‎
The roll out of the operational motorcycles is to enhance FRSC rapid response capability, support surveillance, and patrol operations along Nigerian highways.

‎ Akume said the move is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s continued commitment to the security of lives and property nationwide.

He noted that the motorcycles are cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and align with the current administration’s commitment to cleaner energy and sustainable transportation solutions
‎
‎The Corps Marshal said the motorcycles will immediately be deployed for traffic control along critical corridors, strategic intervention patrols, and traffic enforcement operations, particularly in areas where conventional patrol vehicles face operational limitations.
‎
‎Authorities of road safety also reaffirmed commitment to its mandate of ensuring safer roads and supporting national security objectives for a more secure Nigeria.
