The Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Nafisa Nasir Idris, has donated 100 bags of rice and one million naira (₦1,000,000) to the Igbo community in the state to support their Christmas celebrations.
The items were presented at the Igbo Unity Hall, Birnin Kebbi, and received on behalf of the community by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Other Tribes, Chief Osita Mgbeafuluba, amid a large turnout of Igbo men and women.
Represented by her aide, Maryam Hassan Ka’oje, the Governor’s wife described the Igbo community as hard-working, enterprising, and vital to the economic development of Kebbi State.

She said the gesture was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of community members and enabling them to celebrate Christmas in an atmosphere of joy, peace, and inclusiveness.
Responding, Chief Osita Mgbeafuluba expressed profound gratitude to Governor Nasir Idris and his wife, describing the donation as a demonstration of fatherly and motherly care for the Igbo community.
According to him, “We are overwhelmed by this benevolence. No administration has shown such compassion and goodwill to the Christian Igbo community in Kebbi like the present government.”

He further commended the state government for ensuring the safety of lives and property, noting that the Igbo people continue to live peacefully with their host communities across the state.
