Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has felicitated people of Delta State on the celebration of 2025 Christmas, calling on them to embrace love, unity and Christ-like living as the foundation for peaceful coexistence and sustainable development in the state.
Governor Oborevwori in his Christmas message, urged all residents to use the season to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, compassion and selfless service exemplified by Jesus Christ, while renewing their commitment to building a more harmonious society.
The Governor, commended the people for their resilience, unity and steadfast support, noting that their cooperation had been instrumental to the progress recorded so far.
He says the yuletide offers an opportunity for thanksgiving and renewed hope, reassuring Delta State people that his administration remains committed to delivering good governance and inclusive development in line with the MORE Agenda.
Governor Oborevwori also acknowledged progress made in workers’ welfare, peacebuilding efforts and social intervention programmes aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, including widows, women and youths, stressing that these initiatives have helped to promote stability and stimulate economic activities across the state.
Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his pledge to remain focused on people-oriented policies, programmes and projects, assuring that no community would be left behind in the State Government’s development efforts.
He urged Delta State people to continue to support his administration and to uphold peace, tolerance and unity, noting that collective effort remains vital to achieving the state’s long-term development plans.
While wishing residents a joyful Christmas celebration, the Governor prayed for a peaceful and prosperous New Year, expressing confidence that Delta State would witness greater progress and economic opportunities in the years ahead.
In Gombe State, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, has felicitated the Christian community in the State and across the world on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebration, describing it as a season that reinforces the timeless values of love, peace, sacrifice and tolerance.
In his Christmas message signed by the Director-General Press Affairs, Ismaila Misilli , the Governor said the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ offers an important moment for reflection on the virtues that bind humanity together, irrespective of faith or background, and called on the people of Gombe State to continue to cherish and promote peaceful coexistence.
Governor Yahaya noted that Gombe State remains a shining example of interfaith harmony, where people of diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds live and work together in mutual respect and understanding.
Governor Yahaya, who is also the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, urged Christians to use the festive season to pray fervently for peace, unity, stability and prosperity across the region and Nigeria, especially at a time when collective resilience and shared responsibility are required to overcome economic, security and social challenges.
He further called on residents of Gombe State to remain committed to supporting government efforts aimed at improving the wellbeing of the people.
The Governor reassured the Christian community of his administration’s commitment to religious tolerance, equity and inclusion, stressing that his administration will continue to carry all segments of society along in the ongoing transformation of Gombe State.
Governor Yahaya also pointed to the administration’s tradition of extending practical support to communities during festive periods to ease the burden of celebration, as part of efforts to promote solidarity and shared joy.
He wished Christians in Gombe State and beyond a peaceful, joyous and fulfilling Christmas celebration, while calling on all citizens to recommit themselves to the ideals of unity, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence for the continued progress of the state.
Meanwhile, his Nasarawa State counterpart, Abdullahi Sule, has called on residents to embrace peace, love and unity as Christians celebrate the 2025 Christmas, to mark the birthday anniversary of Jesus Christ.
In his Christmas message, the Governor congratulated Christian faithful in the state and the diaspora, describing the birth of Jesus Christ as a symbol of love, humility, sacrifice and good neighbourliness.
He urged Christians to reflect on the teachings of Christ by showing compassion, sharing with the less privileged and promoting harmonious coexistence.
Governor Sule also appealed for prayers for peace, security and prosperity in Nasarawa State and the nation, while cautioning against extravagance during the festivities.
As the state approaches the electioneering period, he advised citizens to conduct political activities with decorum and responsibility.
The Governor further urged residents to unite against criminal activities and called on road users to observe traffic rules, directing relevant agencies to ensure a safe and accident-free yuletide.
He wished the people of Nasarawa State a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
For the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, residents of the state should embrace peace, tolerance and unity as Christians celebrate Christmas.
In his Christmas message to the people of Rivers State, Governor Fubara described the season as a time of hope, renewal and thanksgiving, urging citizens to reflect on the values of love, humility, sacrifice and compassion exemplified by the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Governor said Christmas represents God’s gift of peace to humanity and stressed the need for residents, irrespective of religious beliefs, to live in harmony and show understanding towards one another, especially in the face of prevailing socio-economic challenges.
Governor Fubara noted that the progress of Rivers State is firmly rooted in unity and stability, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the Rivers First Agenda, which prioritises peace, inclusive development and shared prosperity.
He emphasised that only a united and peaceful state can attract development, build critical infrastructure, strengthen the economy and secure a prosperous future for all citizens.
The Governor also urged residents to replace discord with dialogue and to remain security-conscious during and after the festive period, describing safety and security as a collective responsibility.
Governor Fubara wished the people of Rivers State a peaceful Christmas celebration and a smooth transition into a prosperous 2026, marked by progress, unity and renewed purpose.
