Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident at the 2025 Eggon Cultural Carnival in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, where a truck crashed into a procession, killing four persons and injuring seven others.
In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, Governor Sule described the incident as heartbreaking, noting that an event meant to celebrate culture, unity and joy was suddenly turned into a moment of grief.
The Governor extended heartfelt condolences to the Aren Eggon, His Royal Highness Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (Rtd), the families of the victims, and the entire Eggon nation, while praying for the speedy recovery of those injured.
He commended the organisers for cancelling the carnival in honour of the victims and assured the Eggon nation of the support and solidarity of the Nasarawa State Government during this difficult time.
