Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has commended the Ogoni people for their courage in voting for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 Presidential election.

Speaking during a “thank you” visit to Khana and Gokana Local Government Areas, the Minister emphasised that Rivers State now stands as a unified political entity under the “Renewed Hope Family.”

He further noted that the 2027 elections will be decided by performance rather than party affiliations.

The FCT Minister’s visit to Gokana and Khana LGAs was a triumphant home-coming, as the crowd ushered him into the venues.

In Gokana, political leaders highlighted the developmental projects the Minister has attracted to the area.

They reaffirmed the unalloyed loyalty of the Ogoni people to both the Minister and President Tinubu.

The reception in Khana Local Government Area was equally overwhelming. Leaders in the area described the Minister as a “unifier” and pledged their continued support for the Renewed Hope agenda.

Responding to the outpouring of support, Wike thanked the people for standing by the President in 2023.

He reiterated that the political landscape in Rivers State has shifted toward a single family focused on progress.

Wike expressed delight at the unity among frontline political leaders in Ogoniland and applauded the President for recognising the region’s importance.

In a final note, the Minister cautioned that political tickets in the future would be earned through merit and loyalty, rather than mere “mandate identity.”
