The Zamfara State Plice Command has confirmed the killing of a district head and four other persons when banditry terrorists attacked Gada community in Bungudu Local Government Area of the State in North-West Nigeria.
State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkana who made the confirmation while briefing newsmen on the incident, said 10 persons including a one-year-old baby who were abducted by the banditry terrorists have been rescued.

The bandits launched an attack on Gada community in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, in the early hour of Wednesday.
Elkana while confirming the incident, said the bandits attacked the house of the District Head of Gada community killing him and four other persons.

He said the police have succeeded in rescuing the 10 persons who were abducted by the bandits during their operation.

Elkana also explained that the Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with the military and vigilantes promptly responded and engaged the assailants in a gun battle where the disperse them and rescued 10 persons including the one-year-old baby.
Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner also disclosed that the Police Tactical Operatives have arrested a notorious banditry terrorist who operates in Zurmi and Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of the State.
He said the 20-year-old notorious bandit, named Sani Mati also known as Mai Yammata, was arrested while trying to block the road to kidnap commuters at Koliya village.
The police recovered an AK-47 rifle, double magazines with 3 round of live ammunitions and boxer motorcycle from the notorious bandit, who belongs to the camp of bandit kingpin, Bello Turji.
