The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has urged troops of the 6 Division, Nigerian Army Headquarters in Port Harcourt, to discharge their duties with dedication and discipline.
General Shaibu, who gave the charge during his maiden visit to the Base, commended the personnel on their commitment to the territorial integrity of the nation and assured them of adequate attention to their welfare.
The Army chief was at the 6 Division to interact with officers and men of the Division and its Brigades.
General Shaibu stated that the visit has provided him with a firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by troops in the field.

He urged the officers to maintain high levels of discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
This, he noted, is essential to fast-tracking and enhancing the protection of critical national infrastructure.
General Shaibu, also assured that the welfare of officers and soldiers remains a top priority under his leadership.
In a demonstration of his commitment to environmental sustainability within the barracks, the Army Chief concluded his visit by joining senior officers for a ceremonial tree-planting exercise.
