The Catholic Bishop of Owerri Diocese Most Reverend Lucius Ugorji has commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for his infrastructural achievements urging him to extend development projects to the rural areas of Imo State.
The Bishop made the call during the six year thanksgiving anniversary church service held at the Government House Chapel in Owerri, the state capital.
The thanksgiving service marking Governor Uzodimma’s six years in office drew an array of distinguished personalities, including religious leaders, members of the National Assembly, state legislators, traditional rulers, and other key stakeholders across Imo State.
The special service was organised to appreciate God’s faithfulness over the past six years and to reflect on the achievements of the Governor’s 3R Agenda Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery.

Delivering the sermon the Catholic Bishop of Owerri, Most Reverend Lucius Ugorji, commended the Governor for his focus on infrastructure, security, and governance, while emphasizing the need for more developmental projects in the rural communities.
Governor Hope Uzodimma expressed deep gratitude to God for divine guidance, protection, and wisdom throughout his administration calling on the Church to continue praying for the state to ensure lasting peace and a smooth transition in the remaining years of his tenure.
Some worshippers in attendance applauded the Governor’s leadership style, describing his administration as impactful and offered prayers for continued divine direction in the remaining two years of his tenure
The event climaxed with the presentation of an award titled “Doyen of Ecumenism ‘ to Governor Hope Uzodimma by the Christian Council of Nigeria in recognition of his commitment to unity, peace, and interfaith harmony in Imo State.
