Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Conakry, Guinea, to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the inauguration of President-elect Mamady Doumbouya. He was received by senior Guinean government officials and members of the Nigerian diplomatic corps.
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 17, at the GLC Stadium in Nongo. The Vice President’s attendance underscores Nigeria’s commitment to regional cooperation and democratic governance.

Shettima’s visit is also aimed at strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and Guinea. Under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, Nigeria is positioning itself as a stabilising force in the sub-region.
The Vice President’s mission is expected to deepen bilateral trade and investment between the two West African nations, and reinforce Nigeria’s leadership role within ECOWAS.
