The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army, TRADOC, Major General Peter Malla, says both officers and men of TRADOC and the 31 Artillery Brigade will continue to carry out their operations to secure lives and property with a high sense of professionalism while observing human rights.

General Malla disclosed this at the 2025 West African Social Activities, WASA, jointly organised by TRADOC and the 31 Artillery Brigade held at the Minna military Cantonment parade ground.

The 31 Artillery Parade Ground at the Minna military Cantonment was a hub of colour and culture as officers, soldiers, and their families gathered for the annual West African Social Activities, marking the end of the 2025 training and operational year.

WASA, a long-standing Nigerian Army tradition, provides a platform for relaxation, bonding, and cultural integration after months of rigorous security operations.

Speaking at the event, the TRADOC Commander, Major General Peter Malla, described the operational year 2025 as a success as they were able to carry out operations professionally with cooperation from the host communities.

For the Niger state government, sustaining WASA is not only a morale booster for the troops but also a unifying platform to deepen the civil-military relationship.

Different cultural performances were displayed, including a tug-of-war contest, presentation of awards to outstanding personnel, and activities symbolising unity within the barracks community, as well as the beating of the retreat.
