One Killed, Two Injured in Fatal Crash on Jimgbe–Ajaokuta–Lokoja Road

A road crash along Jimgbe–Ajaokuta–Lokoja highway on Sunday afternoon has claimed the life of one person, while two others sustained serious injuries.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when a moving truck conveying stones suffered a sudden mechanical failure and veered off course, colliding with another truck parked by the roadside.

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officers, assisted by good Samaritans and other motorists, worked frantically to rescue victims trapped in the wreckage.

AIT News learned that the deceased, identified as Ayuba, was a mechanic performing repairs on the parked truck at the time of the collision.

The two injured victims were promptly evacuated to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Normal traffic flow was restored after the debris was cleared from the road.
