The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has approved the appointment of Mr. Sani Daura as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol Matters.
The appointment was announced in a statement released on Wednesday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media.
It described Daura as a career public servant with more than three decades of experience in protocol management within the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
Daura is the current Director of FCT Protocol, a role he has occupied since 2019.

He is due to retire from the Federal Civil Service on January 24, 2026, after over 30 years of service.
According to the statement, his new role as Senior Special Assistant will commence immediately after his retirement, a move aimed at maintaining seamless coordination and consistency in protocol duties under the FCT administration.
The Minister noted that Daura’s depth of experience and familiarity with institutional processes will continue to support effective protocol operations in the nation’s capital.
