Army Assures Bandit Leader Will Be Captured Soon

Notorious Terrorist leader, Bello turji, who is known for terrorising parts of Nigeria’s northwest region will soon be history, as he will be arrested or neutralised.

Theatre Commander of the Major General Warra Idris gave the assurance while speaking with defence correspondents in gusau, headquarters of the theatre command in Zamfara state.

Launched in October 2024, the operation fansan yamma was launched in October 2024 to tackle banditry and insecurity in Nigeria’s northwest region under the supervision of the former minister of defence, Mohammed Badaru.

Since its inception, the operation, which covers a large area, has recorded a number of successful wins in the fight against terrorists and bandits in the area.

During a tour of duty to some communities in the region, the team of defence correspondents. encountered a gridlock as a result of an accident involving two heavy-duty trucks.

On arrival at the theater command and control centre in gusau, the Zamfara state capital, Commander of the joint task force, operation fasan yama, Northwest region Major general Warra Idris disclosed that bello turji only claims he controls Territories just to cause panic, adding that he is always changing location because of the troops superior Onslaught.

Operation FANSAN also neutralized 168 terrorists, arrested 357 collaborators and logistics suppliers, while 1,624 kidnapped victims across its area of responsibility have been rescued so far.

During a visit to the forward operational base, fob, faskari, Katsina State, commander of the Base,
Major Hassan Abubakar, disclosed that the Rocky mountains behind the local government buildings where the terrorists usually attack from had been taken over by the army and the town liberated.
