Chairmen and Councillors of Local Government Councils under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, have debunked allegation of council funds diversion, as alleged on Sunday by Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun.
Addressing journalists in Osogbo, the State Chairman of ALGON, Abiodun Idowu, said necessary payments are being made to Local Government staff who have fully resumed work.
He said no amount of lies or propaganda by the Osun State House of Assembly can tarnish the image of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, over Local Government allocations.
In reaction, the APC Legal Adviser, Adegoke Ogunsola, while addressing journalists, frowned at what they described as an attack on the personality of the Minister, noting that due process is being followed in the disbursement of the funds.
On Sunday, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, at a Press Conference, alleged that the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy interfered in the disbursement of the funds to those he described as running illegal tenures at the various councils.
