Imo State is marking the 50th anniversary of the state through adecisive step to put an end to epileptic power supply across the state.
Governor Hope Uzodimma made the declaration during the inauguration of the Orashi Injection Substation, a 15MVA, 33/11KV electricity power facility designed to strengthen power distribution and improve supply to major parts of the state.
The governor stated that with the Orashi power project now in place, the industrial sector of the state will receive a major boost, as improved electricity supply is expected to drive productivity, attract investments and create employment opportunities for Imo residents.

Also speaking at the event, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, described Governor Uzodimma as a pathfinder, noting that the involvement of sub-national governments remains the most effective way to extend electricity to the grassroots.
With the inauguration of the Orashi Injection Substation coming at a symbolic moment in Imo State’s golden jubilee celebration, the state government says residents can now look forward to improved power supply as efforts intensify to energize industries and stimulate economic growth.
