The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has deployed a response team to assess the impact of a recent bandit attack on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
In a statement, NEMA said the Director-General, Zubaida Umar, directed a team from the Agency’s Minna Operations Office, which has jurisdiction over Kwara State, to relocate temporarily to the affected areas. The team is to carry out a comprehensive on-the-ground assessment and coordinate intervention activities for the affected communities.
The Agency noted that the assessment will be conducted in collaboration with the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency and relevant security agencies.

NEMA added that relief materials, including food and non-food items, have already been mobilized and are on the ground to support victims of the attack.
The Director-General expressed sympathy to the affected communities and the Kwara State Government over the incident, assuring them of NEMA’s full support as response and recovery efforts continue.
