The trial of 11 suspects linked to the killing of Arise News reporter and news anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu and security guard, Barnabas Danlami has been stalled once again at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court sitting in Jabi.
Justice Mohammed Idris adjourned proceedings after lead prosecutor, Adama Musa failed to show up, notifying the court that he was engaged in another criminal case at a sister court in Apo.
Justice Idris however fixed April 21, 22, and 23 for continuation of trial.
Proceeding was first delayed on February 9, when Correctional Services failed to produce the defendants, claiming they were unaware of the trial date.
All 11 defendants, pleaded not guilty to nine counts of conspiracy, robbery, and murder. The charges stem from a violent robbery on September 29, 2025, at Unique Apartments in Katampe Extension, Abuja, where Maduagwu and Danlami were killed.
