Three People have been reportedly killed in Rafin Bauna Village of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, North Central Nigeria.
The victims were said to be on their way from Dutsen Kura to Rafin Bauna when they were ambushed and killed in the early hours of Monday by their assailants.
Spokesman for the Plateau Police State Police Command ASP Gabriel Ubah, Confirmed the incident to AIT but did not disclose the identity of the victims.
According to Ubah, the command has commenced thorough investigation to ensure that the assailants are fished out and brought to justice.
Meanwhile, the Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong in a statement signed by Macham Makut, his Director of Press and Public Affairs also mandated security agencies in the state to immediately go after the assailants.
Lalong, who condemned the act, described the attack as yet another callous attempt by the enemies of peace to begin the new year with violence and said the government will resist such attempts with all resources available to it.
