Vice President Kashim Shettima, has called on Nigerians to use the concurrent observance of Ramadan and Lent to strengthen national unity and show compassion to fellow citizens. He described the period as an opportunity for spiritual renewal.
The Vice President emphasised that Ramadan is a journey of the soul, a time for deep reflection, self-purification, and embracing the true essence of Islam, which is peace, patience, sacrifice, and service to humanity.
Shettima called for prayers for national stability during the holy season, urging Nigerians to strengthen the bonds that unite them and reject divisive forces. He also requested prayers for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, seeking divine guidance.
The Vice President paid tribute to Nigeria’s religious leaders, describing them as the moral and spiritual compass of the country, and acknowledging their role in shaping the its ethical foundation during this period.
