The Ondo State Police Command has launched an intensive manhunt for those responsible for the killing of Oba Kehinde Jacob Faledon of Agamo Town in Akure North Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, gave the assurance on Thursday when he led a joint security delegation to the community for an on-the-spot assessment of the crime scene.
The delegation includes the Commander of the 32 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS).
During a condolence visit to the palace, CP Lawal addressed community members, assuring the monarch’s family and residents that security agencies are working in synergy to track down and apprehend the perpetrators.
Oba Faledon was reportedly killed on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, when armed men stormed his residence.
The Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to intelligence-led operations, sustained patrols, and strategic deployment of personnel to vulnerable areas across the state to prevent further attacks and maintain peace and order.
