The current Speaker of Kwali Area Council, Nuhu Daniel of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged Chairman of Kwali Area Council in the just-concluded Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.
Daniel secured a total of 17,075 votes to clinch victory in the keenly contested poll.
The Returning Officer, Professor Olympus Ejue, announced the result at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Kwali on Sunday morning.
While declaring the outcome, Professor Ejue stated that Nuhu Daniel, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of valid votes cast, is hereby returned elected.
Party supporters gathered at the collation centre shortly after the announcement, celebrating the APC candidate’s victory.
