Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has condemned what it describes as threats, intimidation and political brinkmanship by Governor Monday Okpebholo, warning that such actions pose a threat to democratic governance in the state.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Dan Osa-Ogbegie, the party faulted the Governor’s allegation that the African Democratic Congress, ADC, is promoting cultism as well as his reported vow to demolish properties belonging to opposition leaders and members.

The party also raised concern over reports that armed individuals allegedly trailed opposition figures from the ADC Secretariat to the residence of former Edo State Governor, John Odigie-Oyegun, fired gunshots and damaged vehicles during a recent political engagement, warning that such incidents could push the state towards political anarchy if not properly addressed.
