The Former Attorney general of the Federation Abubakar Malami SAN, his son, Abdulaziz Malami and one Bashir Asabe have again been arraigned before the federal high court in Abuja by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The 16-count criminal charge stems from allegations of money laundering involving funds of unlawful origin amounting to about nine billion Naira.
This arraignment before Justice Joyce Abdumalik is as a result of the transfer of the case from the Vacation Judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, and Justice Obiora Egwuatu who recused himself for personal reasons and in the interest of justice.
They are currently taking their plea.
Justice Abdumalik will also preside over a five-count charge bordering on Allegedly abetting terrorism financing and illegal possession firearms, against Malami and his Son, filed by the state security service, which they pleaded not guilty to on the last adjourned date
