The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has insisted that its State congress scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026 will proceed as planned, despite a restraining order issued by the Federal High Court.
The decision was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held Monday night, ahead of the congress.
The Chairman of the State Congress Committee, Ogonna Obiekwe, assured Party members that the Committee was in the State to conduct a free, fair and transparent exercise.
In attendance at the stakeholders’ meeting were Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa; the APC National Vice Chairman, South-West, Isaacs Kekemeke; and other Party leaders.
The chieftains maintained that there is no crisis within the Party, stressing that the APC in Ondo State remains united.
Recall that on Monday, the Federal High Court sitting in Akure restrained the APC from conducting the State congress scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
The Court also nullified the Party’s Wards and Local Governments congresses held on February 18 and 21, respectively.
