The Niger State Police Command spokesman has confirmed a daylight robbery at a popular Iya Femi restaurant within Minna Metropolis, where a victim was robbed of about 10 million naira cash.
Confirming the incident in a statement, the spokesman of the police, Superintendent Wasiu Abiodun, said the incident occurred on Friday, March ,6, at about 3pm when the suspected armed robbers trailed the victim from a bank to Shiroro Road.
According to him, the victim was robbed of a sum of money and his vehicle, while the robbers abandoned their own vehicle and escaped with the victim’s car.

Abiodun further added that the findings indicated that the victim recovered one of the robbers’ rifles and shot one before they overpowered him.
However, police operatives attached to the Tudun-Wada Division moved to the scene, recovered the rifle and the robbers’ vehicle.
Abiodun further added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
This is the second time a daylight robbery has happened within Minna Metropolis in 2 weeks.
