Operatives of the Department of State Services have arrested a suspected notorious commander of the Eastern Security Network and a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra in Enugu State.
Security sources told AITNEWS the arrest followed months of intelligence gathering into a series of violent attacks in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area.
Operatives of the Department of State Services arrested the suspects on Friday at Eha-Amufu and Umuhu communities in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The suspects are identified as Sabastine Odo Odam, alleged to be a commander of the Eastern Security Network, and Ejike Daniel, a suspected member of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Security sources say investigations linked the duo to a string of attacks on police facilities and the killing of security personnel in the area between 2024 and 2026.

The suspects are also alleged to have masterminded the February twenty-six killing of eleven labourers and the murder of five policemen in separate attacks between December twenty-four, twenty twenty-five and January twenty-six, twenty twenty-six.
Sources say the suspects confessed to coordinating several assaults on police stations and carting away weapons during the operations.
Residents of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area have welcomed the arrests, expressing hope that the development will help restore peace to communities that have witnessed repeated attacks in recent years.
Both suspects are currently in the custody of the Department of State Services and are expected to be arraigned in court after investigations are concluded.
