The Cross River State Police Command has clarified the circumstances surrounding the arrest of the lawmaker representing Obubra State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Dickson Agbor, over allegations of domestic violence involving his wife, Glory Agbor
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Eitokpah Sunday, the police explained that the lawmaker and his wife honoured an invitation by the Command and appeared before investigators for questioning following a complaint.
During the interaction, both parties reportedly indicated a willingness to resolve their differences after appeals made by the wife.
The Police further disclosed that the lawmaker has been granted administrative bail and released to a reliable surety, while the case file will be transmitted to the Office of the Attorney-General for legal advice upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
The Command reiterated its commitment to professionalism and due process, assuring the public that the matter will be handled strictly in accordance with the law.
