The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the party’s State Executive Committee has been dissolved.
The party says the purported directive allegedly issued by a factional National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature, should be ignored.
The viral statement claimed that the Ondo State Executive Committee had been dissolved and replaced with a caretaker committee to oversee the affairs of the party in the state.
But speaking with journalists at the PDP secretariat in Akure, the Ondo State capital, the State Chairman of the party, Dupe Aisida, described the claim as false, unlawful and deliberately misleading.

Aisida maintained that the announcement did not originate from any officially recognised channel of the party and that no formal communication was received by the state leadership through the constitutionally established organs of the PDP.
He emphasised that the existing State Executive Committee remains fully in place and continues to carry out its responsibilities.
The chairman also assured party members and supporters that despite internal challenges, the PDP in Ondo State remains united and committed to providing strong opposition while holding the ruling party accountable in the interest of the people.
